Political

  • Radicalized versions of religious groups growing numerically and in terms of political/social influence (global & local)
  • Politics involved in war

Economic

  • Economic marginalization of one class in local area; even as others (local and moving into area) continue to succeed and to live a well- to-do lifestyle
  • Continued decline in "brand" loyalty with corresponding increase in "shopping" mentality
  • It seems that word-of-mouth is still the best advertising
  • Anecdotally, more first-year college students are returing from downstate or out-of-state colleges mid-year due to financial or social pressures
  • Shortage of affordable housing for low income families
  • Decline of auto industry
  • Possible decline in home values, construction
  • Possible decline in tourism
  • Challenges for growth in world population
  • Increasing financial pressures and competition for dollars
