Records & Registration Revised 3/22/05

Dropping Classes

Students who wish to drop classes need to inform the Records Office of this action by completing and processing an enrollment form in the Records and Registration office or by going online at www.nmc.edu/webregistration to drop your classes. To drop classes online:

  • Select "Login Here,"
  • Login (you will need an active PIN)
  • Select "Registration Menu"
  • Select "Register/Add/Drop"
  • Drop your class or classes.

You must drop before the last ten percent of the session to prevent the assignment of a 0.0 grade.

Instructors' signatures are not required to drop a course unless it is an OPEN/Self-paced course. Procedures and dates www.nmc.edu/records/dates for the "Drop Without Record" (approximately ten percent of the session) and "Drop with Record" (approximately the next 80 percent of the session) are listed in the Schedule of Classes and at www.nmc.edu/records/dates

During the Drop with Record period, you will receive a W grade. The W will not affect your GPA. Dropping is not allowed during the last ten percent of the session time.

Students on Financial Aid are advised that dropping classes will likely reduce and/or place financial assistance at risk. Students dropping all courses may also mail or fax (231-995-1570) a letter to the Records and Registration Office. See "Withdrawing from College" www.nmc.edu/records/withdrawing-from-college.html
