Outdoor Perennial Garden

Here is a list of a few things currently planted in the greenhouse herb garden...

Bamboo

Bamboo

Bamboo is usually associated with tropical Asia, but various species are found in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. This member of the grass family is used for food and construction materials (including “hardwood” floors), among other things.

Broadleaf Plantain

A common weed, the Broadleaf Plantain (Plantago major) is reputed to relieve the itching and burning of scrapes, insect bites and bee stings when crushed leaves are applied to the skin.

Chives

Chives

A relative of onions and garlic, chives (Alium schoenoprasum) are a widely used culinary herb. They are often snipped fresh and added to soups, salads, egg dishes, and lots more.
Moth Mullien

Moth Mullein

Moth mullein (Verbascum blattaria) is related to the Common Mullein, whose large fuzzy leaves and tall spikes of yellow flowers are often seen in areas with poor soil.

Ferns

The ferns shown in this photo are maidenhair fern (Adiantum pedatum), and royal fern (Osmunda regalis). These ferns prefer shady conditions, moist soils, and like all ferns, propagate themselves by spores instead of seeds.
