Crisis ProceduresA crisis is defined as an incident that negatively impacts people or property at the College. A crisis may or may not require immediate personal action. An emergency is defined as an incident that requires immediate personal action. Procedures for emergency situations are at www.nmc.edu/security/emergency-procedures.html Maintenance CrisisExamples: loss of power, heat, cooling, water pipe emergency. Custodial CrisisExample: Supplies Empty, Spills, etc. Employee Personal CrisisIn an employee personal crisis, refer that employee to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP): 947-8387 Student Personal CrisisPlease refer students with personal crisis to one of the following:
Student Illness/InjuryIf the student can walk to Health Services during hours of operation, then please call ahead, 995-1256, and advise student to walk to the Health Services Office to be seen. If the student cannot walk to Health Services due to illness or injury, then this is an emergency, please refer to Code White and call 911. Never transport an ill or injured student! Doing so could put the student in further danger for lack of appropriate medical attention on-scene. Employee Illness/InjuryWork Related and non-life threatening call Human Resources at 995-1362. Work Related and life threatening (person cannot walk without assistance), please refer to Code White and call 911. Non-work related and non-life threatening, then refer the employee to his/her family physician, a walk-in clinic or the Munson Emergency Room. Non-work related and life threatening (person cannot walk without assistance), please refer to Code White and call 911. Never transport an ill or injured employee or guest of the College! Doing so could put the individual in further danger for lack of appropriate medical attention on-scene.
