Automotive Electrical & Drivability Specialist at NMC

Certificate of Achievement (Level II) — NMC Code 031

This certificate is designed to train students in the automotive systems related to the operation of the engine and its control systems. Emphasis is placed on the automotive electrical and electronic control systems. For students to be awarded this Electrical and Drivability Specialist certificate, they must pass the related State of Michigan exams or ASE test for all five of the required automotive courses.

A minimum of 32 credit hours are required to receive this certificate. In addition to the required courses, students must choose electives from the Automotive Program course list to reach the required level.

The English requirement for this program assumes the student is ready for ENG 111. Likewise, the reading skills of the student should be sufficient to score 80 or higher on the COMPASS test. The Math requirement for this program assumes the student is ready for MTH 111. If incoming students place beneath these levels, preparatory course-work may be required before enrolling in program required courses.

To be awarded the Electrical and Drivability Specialist certificate, you must pass the related state certifications or ASE exams for all five of the required automotive courses.
