Automotive Under-Car Specialist at NMCAll Auto Technology Course Descriptions Certificate of Achievement (Level II) — NMC Code 032 This level II certificate is designed to train students in the systems located underneath the automobile. These systems include brakes, suspension, and drive train. For students to be awarded this Under Car Specialist certificate, they must pass the related State of MIchigan or ASE test for all five of the required automotive courses. A minimum of 32 credit hours are required to receive this certificate. In addition to the required courses, students must choose electives from the Automotive Program course list to reach the required level.
The English requirement for this program assumes the student is ready for ENG 111. Likewise, the reading skills of the student should be sufficient to score 80 or higher on the COMPASS test. The Math requirement for this program assumes the student is ready for MTH 111. If incoming students place beneath these levels, preparatory course-work may be required before enrolling in program required courses. To be awarded the Electrical and Drivability Specialist certificate, you must pass the related state certifications or ASE exams for all five of the required automotive courses. * May be waived with proof of appropriate work experience or education. |
