CAD Drafting at NMC

CAD Drafting at NMC

Computer Aided Design (CAD) is needed to make virtually any product that is mass produced. NMC Drafting students learn terminology, two software systems, dimensioning and tolerancing required to create models and drawings using CAD. All students will learn the latest 2-D, 3-D, and parametric modeling CAD software. Related studies include machining, applied mathematics, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and metallurgy. A significant part of this program is the drafting internship which provides the students on the job experience. Upon graduation, students are prepared for employment or may choose to transfer to a bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or occupational education.
