ADMISSION CRITERIA
  1. GPA 2.5 (CMU may be flexible with this GPA)
  2. All courses must be passed with a 2.0 or better to be accepted at CMU.
  3. CMU offers Art majors 4 degree options: B.F.A., B.S., B.A., or B.S. in Ed kindergarten through high school (K through 12) emphasis. Each degree has specific specific requirements. Please see a counselor for details.
  4. Majors in Art Education will qualify for recommendation for a Secondary Provisional Certificate which will permit the holder to teach in their Art major in K-12 and their minor in 7 through 12. A student is not required to complete a minor for teacher certification but it is recommended.
  5. The MACRAO stamp will be placed upon your transcripts once you complete the courses below and request the stamp on your transcripts from the Records office at N.M.C.
  6. Transfer students must complete graduation competencies for C.M.U. (Eng 111, 112; Com 111; Mth 111) at N.M.C. or they will be required to complete these classes during their first or second semester at C.M.U.
  7. Please visit CMU as early in your academic career as possible.

If you are seeking to be Ed certified, choose: Psy 101 and 211 - Intro and Developmental Psychology and one additional social science outside of Psychology
