NORTHWESTERN MICHIGAN COLLEGE
TRANSFER GUIDE
| Psychology (Mt. Pleasant campus) |
Central Michigan University
|
The Psychology department offers you a choice of two
majors. The first is extremely flexible and is appropriate for anyone interested
in psychology, regardless of postgraduate plans. The second major is relatively
structured. This major is recommended if you wish to go on for graduate
study in psychology. Most of your major will be done at CMU. You must complete
15 semester hours of your major at CMU. The following list of courses will
prepare you for either a major or a minor in psychology at CMU.
It should be noted that a major in Psychology at the Bachelor level
can be used in many occupations. However, if you are interested in pursuing
a field in which therapeutic treatment is required, graduate work will
be necessary. With a Bachelor in Psychology, you can pursue graduate work
in counseling, social work or psychology.
