CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by Chair Elaine Wood.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
On a motion by Robert Chase, seconded by Michael McManus, the board unanimously approved the agenda as presented.

PUBLIC INPUT
There was no public input offered.

TUITION AND FEES
On a motion by Cheryl Follette, seconded by Michael McManus, tuition and fees for the 1999-2000 school year were adjusted as follows: tuition will increase by 3.0% (In-District/$54.75, Out-of-District/$90.50, Out-of-State/GLMA In-State/$101.75, and GLMA Out-of-State/$109.50); fees which are paid by all students with six or more hours will increase by 3.0%, all effective 1999 fall semester. Motion passed, with the understanding that some of the revenue be targeted to budget areas other than positions.

RESOLUTION OF ORGANIZATION
Cheryl Follette made a motion, seconded by Jack Stegenga, that the Board authorize the administration to make application to the Liquor Control Commission for a Special License for the sale of either beer and wine, or beer, wine and spirits for consumption on the premises beginning at 6:30 p.m., March 17, 1999, ending no later than 6:30 p.m., March 18, 1999, at the following location and address: Oleson Center, 1701 East Front Street. This location is in the City of Traverse City, County of Grand Traverse. The Board commended Fred Laughlin, Culinary Arts and Hotel and Restaurant Management program, for helping to organize this fund-raising event. Proceeds will be used to cover various expenses associated with the operation of the Oleson Center labs.
