5:30 p.m. DINNER MEETING: The board met for dinner and heard reports from Gene Jenneman (Front Door Committee), John Tanner (Proposal C grant), and the Fellows Selection Committee (1999 nominations). No decisions were made or actions taken.

CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting was called to order at 7:20 p.m. by Chair Michael McManus.

Trustees present: Robert Chase, Cheryl Follette, William Janis, Michael McManus, Shirley Okerstrom, Jack Stegenga, Elaine Wood
Trustees absent: None
Also present: Ed Bailey, Ilse Burke, Marguerite Cotto, Kathleen Guy, Bill Hendry, Gene Jenneman, Craig Mulder, Jerry Murphy, Tim Nelson, Karen Sabin, Stephen Siciliano, John Tanner

Tim Nelson, Vice President of Administrative Services, and Ed Bailey, Construction Projects Director, reviewed the timeline for all bond-funded construction projects and presented an update on the M-TEC building.

Jerry Murphy, Economic Developer for Michigan State University Extension in Gogebic County and Executive Director of the Gogebic County Economic Development Commission, described different forms of relationships, partnerships, and collaborations, and their potential impact on organizations. A Question & Answer session followed, along with general discussion about a variety of potential partners.

The study session adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
