CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting was called to order at 8:15 p.m. by Chair Michael McManus.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
On a motion by Elaine Wood, seconded by Jack Stegenga, the agenda was approved.

PUBLIC INPUT
None.

CONSENT ITEMS
The following items were approved on a motion by Robert Chase, seconded by Walter Hooper:

• appointment of Robb Houston, Environmental Science/Developmental Math instructor, effective August 27, 2001. This is a regular, full-time, faculty position (replacement).
• appointment of Dr. Michael Oberlin, Psychology instructor, effective August 27, 2001. This is a one-year temporary, full-time, faculty position (replacement).

AVIATION MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT
Cheryl Follette made a motion, seconded by Walter Hooper, that the administration be authorized to enter into a contract with Northwestern Aviation Specialities to provide aircraft maintenance services as presented, in an amount not to exceed $250,000. Motion passed.

SECURITY PROPOSAL
Elaine Wood made a motion, seconded by Walter Hooper, that the security proposal be accepted, as presented, pending approval of contract with the Traverse City Police Department. Motion passed.

ADJOURNMENT
The special meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
