CALL TO ORDER
The special meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m. by Chair Michael McManus.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
On a motion by Cheryl Follette, seconded by Jack Stegenga, the agenda was approved.
PUBLIC INPUT
None.
CONSENT ITEMS
The following items were approved on a motion by Walter Hooper, seconded by Jack
Stegenga:
- appointment of John Zachman, Political Science Instructor, effective August
27, 2001. This is a temporary, one-year, full-time, faculty position (replacement).
- appointment of Judy Chu, English Composition Instructor, effective August
27, 2001. This is a regular, full-time, faculty position (replacement).
- appointment of Deirdre Mahoney, English Composition Instructor, effective
August 27, 2001. This is a regular, full-time, faculty position (replacement).
- revisions to staff policy, D-302.00, Degree Requirements
- appointment of Marilyn Willobee, Controller, effective July 9, 2001. This
is a regular, full-time, administrative position.
WEST BAY CAMPUS MARINA
Cheryl Follette made a motion, seconded by Jack Stegenga, that the administration
be authorized to enter into a contract with Kal Excavation Company, in the amount
of $77,000 (including 10% contingency), to remove approximately 3,500 cubic yards
of sand and dispose of the material in the practice area of the tennis courts
on NMC's main campus, as recommended by the Building and Site Committee. Motion
passed.
