As editor of White Pine Press, I had to oversee a staff with many personalities (and temperaments!) and learned to work under pressure. My entire experience e helped prepare me for my current job as editor-in-chief of the Business News in Traverse City, where I’ve been for 10 years! I have been married for 10 years, have a two-year-old son and one on the way.

I have stayed in an area of design with type and layout. Since graduating,
I have worked at Sign & Design. They just gave me a 15 year anniversary
party. I design logos for trucks, cars, boats, store fronts, windows, cottage
signs, etc. We do it all and make it inhouse. From just vinyl to 3-D lettering
made on our router machine that runs directly from our design programs.
One of our clients is Kilwin's Chocolates. We do franchise signs for them
from Petoskey all the way to Florida and out to Colorado. The computer
work I did for the paper helped after I was in the sign business a couple
years. The computer format and platform really changed and the work on
the paper helped me change over faster than most because of the similarity
of the progam layout.
