Gary Howe: Biography
Gary Howe has been an adjunct instructor in the social science department at Northwestern Michigan College since 2003. He also attended NMC from 1991-1994, graduating with an Associate of Science and an Associate of Arts. He holds a Bachelor of Science in International Studies from Northern Michigan University and is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies post-graduate program.

Past Work
As a Traverse City photographer, Howe frequently shoots assignments central to questions of urban sprawl and farm preservation for the Michigan Land Use Institute. Past editorial photography clients have included the New York Times, Detroit Free Press, Yes! Magazine, Utne Reader and the Traverse City Record Eagle. He is also one only a few photojournalistic Traverse City wedding photographers in the Northern Michigan region.
