| The podietia of C. cornuta are long, slender and pointed. There are round patches of soredia at the tips of the otherwise smooth, corticate podietia. The podietia are green to mineral-gray and usually unbranched. The primary thallus consists of intermediate sized, grayish squamules that are white below and brownish toward the base. |
