| The podietia of C. crispata have open flaring cups that proliferate from the margins. Small, dark-brown apothecia and pycnidia are located at the tips of the proliferations. The podetia stems lack soredia, but may have raised areoles and bear squamules. The primary thallus is intermediate in size, mineral gray to olive-brown, and is usually not persistent. |
