| A very common species, C. cristatella is the lichen most likely to attract the attention of the casual observer. Its greenish, club-shaped podetia lack soredia and are tipped with bright red apothecia. Squamules are usually present on lower parts of the podetia. The primary squamules are tiny and persistent. This species is commonly called "British Soldiers".. |
