| The distinctive yellowish cast and red fruits easily separate this lichen from other Cladonias. The podietia are 2 to 4 cm tall with narrow, irregular cups at the apex. The red fruits may be overlooked without the aid of a hand lens. Sccant soredia are found on the upper parts of the podietia, which are sometimes fissured. The Primary thallus also has a yellowish cast and consists of intermediate-sized and persistent squamules . |
