| C. pyxidata has greenish-gray to brownish cups that are large, regular and short. The cups are not sorediate. The large areoles on the inside surface of the cups make this species easy to identify. Fruits, if present, are brown and located at the rims of the cups. The primary squamules are large and persistent. |
