| P. ulophyllodes is a foliose, yellow-green lichen that is loosely attached to tree trunks. The upper surface is often wrinkled with linear, crescent-shaped soralia along margins. The lower surface is black with bare tan areas at the outer edges. Apothecia are rare. Similar to Pseudoparmelia caperata in color and growth habit, P. ulophyllodes differs by the linear, marginal soralia. P flaventior is also similar but has numerous pores in the upper surface. |
