| Lichens in the genus Lecanora have discs with a distinct rim the color of the thallus. L. symmictera has yellow-orange discs that overgrow and obscure the rim at maturity. The thallus is yellowish, thin and uneven. Inconspicuous, but distinctive, this lichen is common throughout Michigan. |
