| P. aipolia is a small, greenish gray lichen found closely attached to trees and sometimes rocks (or roofs) in sunny areas. The narrow lobes have small white spots on the upper surface. Apothecia have dark gray centers that become white pruinose. The lower surface is white to tan with numerous rhizines. |
