Phaeophyscia rubropulchra


 

 

P. rubropulchra is agreenish-brown lichen that blends in with the bark on trees along roadsides or in open areas. Upon close observation with a hand lens, the distinctive red-orange medulla is apparent make the identification of this species certain. The lobes are narrow and black rhizines project from the margins. The soralia are granular and often isidoid.
