Micael Beauchamp with the Barn Roughs
Saturday, November 7th
Artcenter Traverse City
720 Elmwood, TC
Artcenter Traverse City is hosting this all-proceeds benefit for the Insititute for Sustainable Living & Natural Design (ISLAND -- co-founded by former WNMC programmer Brad Kik). Aside from Beauchamp, musical particpants may include Susan Fawcett, Mark Lavengood, Ian Gorman, Dan McCartney and/or Brandon Foote.
Michael Beauchamp has been playing music since he was a little one,
from his first notes of air saxophone on "Rocky Horror Picture Show" to
noise shows at the Blind Pig. In college he played in the folk/rock duo
The Dumb and Ugly Club, and also the ska band King Mob. He has often
been seen backing Chris Bathgate on electric guitar and was in Descent
of the Holy Ghost Church with the aforementioned Ann Arbor songwriting
wunderkind. Other credits include The Suppertime Boys, The Ambitious
Brothers and the shortlived Slabia. He has only recently (early 2006)
begun playing all of his own songs under his own name, which should
please midwestern audiences immensely!
