New Student Checklist
Find out more about NMC — check out our complete list of programs or schedule a visit. One of our Admissions Ambassadors will take the time to talk with you about the programs of study you're interested in and show you around campus.
- SCHEDULE A VISIT »
We think the best way to get to know your future college is to visit. Schedule a visit so that we can tell you more about our programs of study, introduce you to our campus, and answer any questions you might have about attending Northwestern Michigan College.
- APPLY TO NMC »
You may apply online using our Online Application. If you’d like to apply in person, the Admissions Office is located in the Tanis Building (#5 on the Main Campus Map). Call (231) 995-1054 with questions. All students will need to send an official copy of their high school transcripts or GED and are welcome to submit ACT or AP scores as well. Check here for more transcript information.
- APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID »
To be considered for any kind of student financial assistance at NMC, including scholarships, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For priority consideration, we recommend filing your FAFSA each year in February after your income taxes for the previous year are complete. The FAFSA application is completed online and submitted to the Federal processing center for their review. For any questions regarding the financial aid process, please contact our Student Financial Services Office at (231) 995-1035.
- SIGN UP FOR ORIENTATION »
Once you're admitted to NMC you will receive information about scheduling your orientation session. All students are asked to attend orientation to find out more about the ways in which NMC aims to create academic success for all students.
- APPLY TO LIVE IN OUR RESIDENCE HALLS
Part of your college experience may include living in the dorms. At NMC we are proud of the Living & Learning Communities that we have created in our Residence Halls and we invite you to be a resident with us! Visit the Housing page to learn more about dorm life at NMC »
