Academic OneFile is a great source for millions of articles from scholarly journals and other authoritative sources on biology, chemistry, criminal justice, economics, environmental science, history, marketing, political science, and psychology.

Academic Search Complete » (EBSCO)

Academic Search Complete contains the full-text of more than 8,500 journals, including more than 7,300 peer-reviewed titles. Most of the full-text articles are also searchable. An additional 12,500 journals and 13,200 publications have indexing and abstracts available. This multidisciplinary database covers virtually every area of academic study.

Art & Architecture Source » (EBSCO)

Art & Architecture Source covers fine, decorative, and commercial arts, as well as architecture and architectural design. It features over 600 full-text journals, more than 220 full-text books, and over 63,000 images.

Associates Programs Source » (EBSCO)

Associates Program Source has articles on topics including: accounting, agriculture, child care, cosmetology, cooking, food service, forestry, graphic arts, hospitality management, interior design, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, and welding. Nearly 1,000 full-text journals and 11 full-text books are available.

AtoZdatabases has detailed information on 30 million businesses and executive profiles. Includes data on over 240 million residents as well as new movers/homeowners. Special features include a background and criminal history search. Information provided on U. S. healthcare professionals. Includes a jobs database and email marketing.

Auto Repair Source (EBSCO)

Auto Repair Source has repair information and schedules, diagrams, parts and labor estimates, service alerts, and recalls. It covers thousands of domestic and imported vehicles.

Biography Reference Center » (EBSCO)

Biography Reference Center has more than 460,000 full-text biographies. It includes the complete full-text run of Biography Today and Biography Magazine as well as thousands of narrative biographies.

Business Source Elite » (EBSCO)

Business Source Elite includes full-text journal articles from over 1,000 top business sources including scholarly and peer reviewed publications dating back to 1985.

Chilton Library » (GAle)

Chilton Library includes vehicle maintenance and specification tables, step-by-step service and repair procedures, vacuum and wiring diagrams, and test prep quizzes for certification exams. Thousands of year, make, and model combinations are available, covering the most popular vehicles from the past 30 years, along with some specialty models.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is published every weekday and is the nation’s largest newsroom dedicated to covering colleges and universities. They also offer tools, career opportunities,and information targeted towards people working in an academic setting.

CINAHL Complete » (EBSCO)

CINAHL Complete covers nursing, biomedicine, complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. It contains the full text for more than 1,300 journals and indexing for another 5,500 journals.

Congressional Digest » (EBSCO)

Congressional Digest reports on pros and cons, background and verbatim arguments of legislation before Congress, each issue dealing with one law under consideration. Ebook Central has over 46,000 full-text books available for viewing in your web browser, or you can download ebooks and chapters to your device. It contains books on a range of academic, college-level subjects.

ebSCO Academic Ebooks »

EBSCO Academic Ebooks offers full-text ebooks, available to read online or downloaded, on a range of academic topics. Also available is the eBook Business collection, which focuses on business topics, such as marketing, finance, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship.

Education Source provides scholarly research for education students, professionals, and policy makers. It covers all levels of education from early childhood to higher education and it also covers specialties such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. General OneFile is an excellent source for millions of full-text articles. It provides full-text access to thousands of magazines, journals, and newspapers across many disciplines. Topics include careers, computers and technology, education, health, history, news and current events, personal finance and taxes, and self-help/self-improvement.

GOVInfo »

Govinfo provides free online access to official Federal Government publications which include bills and statutes, budget and presidential materials, congressional committee materials, congressional rules and procedures, directories of organizations and officials, executive agency publications, judicial publications, legislative agency publications, proceedings of congress and general congressional publications, and regulatory information. Through govinfo, you are able to search, browse and download documents and publications.


GreenFILE has information covering all aspects of human impact on the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. It offers full-text for more than 4,700 records.

Health Source: Consumer Edition » (EBSCO)

Health Source: Consumer Edition covers subjects including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine, and general health. The Homeland Security Digital Library (HSDL) is the nation’s premier collection of documents related to homeland security policy, strategy, and organizational management. The Learning Express Library offers many resources for learning and testing general business skills and career prep. Includes tutorials on MS Office software, basic math and grammar. Also includes test preparation and practice exams including GED, LSAT, ASVAB, real estate, postal worker, law enforcement, U.S. citizenship, and more.

MasterFILE Complete has a broad collection of popular full-text magazines and reference books. It covers subjects including business, health, education, fitness, sports and leisure, personal finance, general science, multicultural issues, DIY, and fashion. It also includes photos, maps, and flags.

Michigan Authors and Illustrators »

Michigan Compiled Laws »

Nexis Uni offers journal and newspaper articles covering news, business, law, and medicine. NoodleBib has interactive tools to aid students and professionals with online research. Use NoodleBib to create MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian citations. Additional resources are available for selecting a search engine and finding some relevant sources.

Online Water Library »

The Online Water Library is NMC Library's open-access repository for research on the Great Lakes, inland lakes and streams, and groundwater in the Grand Traverse Bay region. It is provided as a public service for researchers, educators and the general public.

Ovid Nursing Journals »

Ovid Nursing Journals contains full-text articles from the most important nursing journals, including AJN: American Journal of Nursing and Nursing. Articles are indexed in the CINAHL database.

Science Direct offers access to scholarly articles in physical sciences and engineering, life sciences, health sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

Small Engine Repair Center » (EBSCO)

Small Engine Repair Center has repair guides for small engines and routine maintenance (tune-ups, brake service, etc.). It also includes guides on extensive repairs such as engine and transmission disassembly. Coverage includes lawn mowers, motorcycles, tractors, marine/boat motors, personal water crafts, and snowmobiles. It has more than 450 full text reference books with photos and illustrations, information on more than 25 years of engine models, and coverage of more than 90,000 repairs.

TDS Health (Formerly Statref) »

STAT!Ref is an online source for ebooks for nursing, offered as part of TDS Health. Contains over 600 ebooks on nursing diagnosis, care plans, procedures, medical-surgical nursing, perioperative care and others.

Traverse City Newspaper Index »

The NMC Library created an index for the following newspapers: The Grand Traverse Herald, The Evening Record, The Morning Record, The Traverse Bay Eagle, and The Traverse City Record Eagle. The index covers newspaper stories, including birth, marriage, and death announcements, from the Traverse City area from 1868 to approximately 1985. This is a freely-available index, provided as a public service. Articles are available full-text on microfilm at Traverse Area District Library.
