Mike McIntosh Memorial Truck and Car Show

TRAVERSE CITY, MI — Northwestern Michigan College’s Automotive Technology Program will host the ninth annual Mike McIntosh Memorial Classic Car and 4x4 Show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at NMC’s Automotive Service Technology Building on Aero Park Drive.

The show is named for the late NMC automotive instructor Mike McIntosh, who retired in 2004 after 34 years of service. McIntosh organized the first car show in 2004.

Vehicle owners are invited to enter their vehicles starting at 8 a.m. There is a $10 entry fee per vehicle, and owners can register on-site. Trophies will be awarded for best of show in each class. Admission for spectators is free. The event also includes a silent auction and food available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit NMC’s Automotive Program.

In addition, the Automotive Technology facilities will be open and student projects and vehicles will be displayed. Michigan Blood will also be on site with its Blood Bus for those eligible and willing to donate.

The NMC Automotive Service Technology Program offers students the option of pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree, which combines automotive technician classes with liberal arts courses, or a master technician certificate. Two specialized certificates, an electrical and drivability certificate and an under car certificate, are also available.
