The emphasis in electronics and electrical technology will begin preparing you for an exciting technical career in unique and diverse industries right here in Michigan or throughout the world! The opportunities are limitless!

As society has evolved, so has the role of the electronics technician. Electronics technician test, troubleshoot and repair electronic systems sometimes isolating the issue to a component, but more often than not, to a board, set-up issue, or a conflict between hardware and software. In this concentration, students will design, build and test electronic circuits as well as a ground-based rover robots simulating the systems they will see in industry. Students will use electronic troubleshooting equipment including digital multimeters (DMM) and oscilloscopes to test circuits and signals. They will program and develop microcontroller-based systems to respond and react to sensor inputs.

This experience will prepare them for the electronic systems found in numerous industries including consumer electronics, biomedical devices, commercial products, and the manufacturing technologies associated with building these devices. In addition, graduates will also have the skills required to perform test validation of products or parts. The diverse skill sets from this concentration will prepare a student for today’s fast-paced work environment with a broad working knowledge of electronics, electrical and basic controls.
