Certified Nursing Assistant
Effective April 2016, Northwestern Michigan College Extended Education Services will discontinue offering the Certified Nursing Assistant training program. We will continue to evaluate the valuable need for CNA training, however, over the years since the start of the CNA Training program, a number of factors have driven down the number of students requiring the training including other job and education opportunities in the region and the opening of other CNA training programs in the region by private industry.
We are proud of the students we have serviced with CNA training over the past four years. They are making a difference in the lives of people they serve through their work in skilled care and assisted living facilities, rehabilitation programs, and acute care hospitals. Over the years we received great feedback from students about the quality and comprehensiveness of our program. We will continue to monitor the need for CNA training and provide any updates to status in the future.
