The following courses are either currently offered at some point during the year or are in the process of being developed:

  • All Things Fresh Water, various components — each offering is not necessarily identical (6 hours)
  • Animal Tracking — Mammals of Northern Michigan (9 hours)
  • Birding by Ear — Parts I and II (5 hours ea.)
  • Edible and Medicinal Plants (3 hours)
  • Environmental Studies — Northern Michigan Overview (8 hours)
  • Fisheries of the Great Lakes (9 hours)
  • Lake Michigan Shoreline Habitats (7 hours)
  • Northern Michigan Rivers (6 hours)
  • Northern Michigan Geology (11 hours)
  • Sleeping Bear Dunes and Lake Michigan Shoreline (8 hours)
  • Tree Identification and Forestry (6 hours)
  • Wildflowers/Native Plants (hours vary)
  • Entomology — Bug Basics (under development)
  • Northern Michigan Animals and Habitats (under development)
  • Leading and Guiding an Outdoor Experience (under development)

At the time of enrollment, related courses taken within two years may be considered toward the certificate.
