Tues., Oct. 20, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Songwriter Seth Bernard has developed a four-phase collaborative songwriting workshop process that works for people of all ages, requires no previous experience and produces a new song every time. This creative empowerment process builds community and provides individuals with valuable tools, experience and confidence to bring into future creative endeavors. "Collaborative Songwriting for Collective Liberation" workshops are informed by anti-oppression trainings and built on 15 years of experience successfully facilitating collaborative songwriting.

10 Mon., Sept. 14-Nov. 16, 5:30-6:30 p.m. This mixed (SATB) choral ensemble is open to community members and college students with past choral experience. The Chamber Singers provide an educational and personal enrichment experience made possible through singing quality choral literature with an emphasis on newer works and works for small choral ensembles. Performance excellence is principal to the purpose of the ensemble. The Chamber Singers perform throughout the semester and frequently perform with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. May also be taken for academic credit. To arrange an audition, email jecobb@nmc.edu. This semester's instruction, rehearsals, and performance will be virtual. Singers will take part in a weekly online group rehearsal, and online sectionals. Singers will also use provided practice recordings for self-directed rehearsals. In addition to the scheduled classes there will be 20 arranged online classes.
