How do I know if I already have a student account at NMC?

You will have a student account (a.k.a NMC ID and Password) if you have ever taken a CREDIT or NON-CREDIT class at NMC, or if you have received training through your employer by our TRAINING and RESEARCH department.

I have taken classes at NMC before, but I don't know my login information. What do I do?

Contact the NMC Technology Help Desk, 995-3020. Once they verify your identity, they can give you your NMC ID and Password. Hours listed below.

If I already have a student account at NMC, how do I log in?

If you are already a student at NMC, you may use the same NMC ID and password that you use to log in to NMC Self-Service and other NMC services. If you have taken classes at NMC in the past, but do not know your NMC ID and/or password, you can contact the NMC Technology Help Desk, (231) 995-3020. Once they verify your identity, they can give you your NMC ID and Password. Hours are listed below.

What if I don't know my NMC password?

If you are a brand new student, a NMC password is assigned to you when you create a new account. You will see both your NMC ID and password once you successfully create your account.

If you are already a student at NMC and need help with your password, you can contact the NMC Technology Help Desk:

How do I drop a class?

To drop a class, you must call the Extended Education Office, (231) 995-1700. Office hours are Mon.–Fri., 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

It's the first day of the class and it won't allow me to register.

If you are trying to register on the same day a class starts, you must call the Extended Education Office, (231) 995-1700.

Do I need to have an NMC student account to browse class information?

No. You can browse class information within the Extended Education online registration area without logging in.

Why does an error code appear when i register for more than one class on the same day of the week?

If two (or more) classes you choose meet on the same day of the week/time an error message on the schedule builder will appear. You can verify the classes dates using the "DETAIL VIEW" and confirm that the actual dates of the class are different and proceed with the registration process. If you picked two classes that the meeting dates are the same, you should remove one of the conflicting classes.

When is my credit card charged?

Your credit card is charged upon completion of the registration process. If you do not pay at time of registration, the class(es) in your cart will be dropped.

Are there classes I can't sign up for using online registration?

Yes. If you are looking for a particular class and it does not appear in our online registration system, please contact the Extended Education Office to register by phone at (231) (995-1700.

Why doesn't my LIFE Discount Waiver appear?

At this time, the LIFE Discount for those Grand Traverse County residents who are age 62+ is not available for online registration. If you meet the requirements to receive this discount, please call the Extended Education Office to register at (231) 995-1700.
