Village Wine & Walking Tour
The buzz continues about the boom and activity at the Grand Traverse Commons, here’s your chance to experience it firsthand. On Friday, September 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., the public is invited to take a walking tour of the historic Village at Grand Traverse Commons (former State Hospital), with developer Ray Minervini. He will provide a candid account of the Village illuminating its history and his vision for its future. While it may seem like a lot of building and renovating is currently happening, Minervini says they are only about 30 percent done, and the area still has a lot more potential. After the walk, enjoy a behind the scenes tour of one of the renovated buildings, the former laundry room and now Left Foot Charley Winery. Spend a little time with winemaker and owner, Bryan Ulbrich, learning about and tasting some of Left Foot Charley's best wines. Total cost for the tour and sampling is $39. Call NMC Extended Education at (231) 995-1700 to register. For information about this and other noncredit offerings, visit www.nmc.edu/ees.
