Spring Campus Day is May 10
An Enrichment Extravaganza
Choose from 44 intriguing learning options
NMC's LIFE Academy is hosting a semi-annual Lifelong Learning Campus Day Friday, May 10 from 9:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the University Center on Cass Road. The main attraction is the great variety of learning options and presenters that provide exposure to topics ranging from computers to world issues, and art to travel.
Participants create a day-long learning experience by selecting three sessions from 44 options presented by area experts: NATO advisor Jack Segal discusses whether the Arab Spring has been hijacked; Kathleen Brown, 2010 Michigan Pharmacist of the Year, hosts "Ask the Pharmacist"; Chef Laura McCain demonstrates recipes when cooking for one or two; WTCM's Mike Sheehan makes humor from quirks of the English Language; Author Susan Bays shares the history and beauty of the Historic Cottages of Mackinac; and Ophthalmologist Douglas Covert shares ways to keep your eyes healthy. A sampling of other topics include the life of Amelia Earhart, brain games, several computer topics, European river tour, writing your family history, humor in the arts, gardening, good reads, taking care of your back, the new YMCA, and much more.
Cost of the day is $20. Bring your lunch, or order a box lunch for $9. To register, contact NMC-Extended Education at (231) 995-1700.
