NMC Transfer Guide - MTA

To: Central Michigan University - Main Campus

Program: Athletic Training / Sports Medicine

This program provides professional preparation for students aspiring to be BOC certified athletic trainers. Certification is obtained by successful completion of an annual test conducted by the N.A.T.A. Because of the specific nature of this program and the amount of internship hours required, it is recommended that the student transfer after one year. This program will take from three-and-a-half to four years after admittance to complete. We recommend you call CMU prior to transfer.

Admission Criteria

  1. Courses below 2.0 will not transfer to CMU.
  2. This is a competitive program with an average of 14 available spaces a semester.
  3. 120 hours of practical experience in an athletic training or sports medicine related setting.
  4. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a CMU advisor early in academic career.

Basic Requirements

Completion of Basic Requirement courses at NMC will fulfill general requirements at CMU. Upon request at the NMC Records and Registration Office, a statement will be placed on your transcript, "MICHIGAN TRANSFER AGREEMENT (MTA) SATISFIED".
