NMC Transfer Guide

To: Muskegon Community College and Northwestern Michigan College

Program: Respiratory Therapy Completed in Traverse City

A Certified Respiratory Therapist Associate degree program is available through Munson Hospital, Muskegon Community College (M.C.C.), and Northwestern Michigan College (N.M.C.), and allows a student to become a Certified Respiratory Therapist in Traverse City. Muskegon Community College provides the Associate degree, Munson, the clinical experience, and N.M.C. the liberal arts courses. There is a specialty clinical done in Grand Rapids or Ann Arbor (see Laura Schmidt for details).

Starting salary for a R.T. is in the range of $35,000 to $38,000 per year. A potential student must enjoy working with people, be a team player, yet like working as an autonomous professional with interests in computers, science, and machinery.

Courses required from NMC... students should consider finishing most of the courses listed below before starting the program (due to financial aid considerations).

It is essential that you contact Laura and Karen as early as possible for program updates.

All courses taken at NMC must be completed with a 2.0 or higher in order to transfer to M.C.C.
