Program: Social Work

The Social Work program is designed to prepare students for general social work practice and for graduate study.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

  1. Grades - 2.0 and above grades considered for transfer
  2. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  3. Admission - Students are admitted into the Social Work program as Juniors (56 acceptable credits).
  4. Transferable Credits - MSU will accept a maximum of 60 credits from a cummunity college.
  5. Transfer students must apply for admission to MSU before they can apply to the School of Social Work.
  6. Likelihood of admission is improved with relevant paid or volunteer work in the human services area, a well written personal statement and good references.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

The following courses are listed to facilitate transfer and fulfill University requirements at MSU. These courses may not fulfill requirements for the Associate of Arts or Science degree at NMC. If your goal is to complete an Associate degree before transferring, see an advisor for assistance.
