The surveying profession offers a wide variety of different types of work, some indoors and some outdoors. The surveyor may specialize in precise calculations, boundary conflict problems, or construction layout. There are also good opportunities to play a leading role in the development of the natural resources of the country. The profession affords unlimited opportunities for personal involvement.

Some categories of the surveying profession are:

ATTENTION: Following this guide will NOT necessarily complete MACRAO requirements and meet NMC's Associate of Science and Arts Degree Requirements. Please meet with a counselor or advisor if you want to meet NMC degree requirements as well as MTU requirements.

HUMANITIES, SOCIAL SCIENCE, AND COMMUNICATION FOR MTU GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Note: As part of their General Education requirements, Michigan Tech requires a total of 25 credits in Communication, Social Science and/or Humanities . Three of these credits must be at the junior or senior level. One class from each of the Humanities at MTU and Social Science lists below are required. Additional NMC classes from the above categories that will transfer as Distribution Requirements are listed at this link:

MTU Distribution Requirements (16 credits) If ENG 111 (4) and ENG 112 (4) listed at beginning of the guide are taken, then 8 credits from this list may be chosen.
