The School of Engineering offers a degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering with majors in:

  1. Computer Engineering
  2. Electrical Engineering
  3. Bioengineering
  4. Engineering Chemistry
  5. Industrial and Systems Engineering
  6. Mechanical Engineering
  7. Engineering Physics

Note: Courses not numbered will work for engineering majors 1-7 listed above. Courses for specific majors are followed by its number(s) in parenthesis.

Admission Criteria

GPA is competitive; 2.8 is the minimum for consideration to the School of Engineering and Computer Science.

Basic Requirements

Although Oakland University is a member of MACRAO, Oakland requires additional hours of general education for their students beyond the 32 hours granted by MACRAO. Students are required to complete two additional general education courses once they transfer to Oakland University which may be completed in your major. Oakland does not count English Composition as a general education (under MACRAO), but does require it for graduation. Request the MACRAO stamp be placed on your transcripts in the NMC's records office.

BIO 115, BIO 116 and CHM 151 can be used as an approved math/science elective at OU. Computer Engineering majors can also use MTH 241 as their math/science elective.

If you wish an Associate of Arts degree, 64 semester credit hours are required.
