NMC Transfer Guide - MACRAO

Program: Psychology

Students majoring in Psychology should plan to continue their education through at least the Masters level if they want to work in the field. Increased licensing requirements are only given after Masters or Doctoral work.

Admission Criteria

  1. Minimum GPA of 2.0
  2. See WMU Psychology Transfer Guide as well
  3. Completion of the following with a 2.0 or better:
    1. PSY 101 – Intro to Psychology
    2. PSY 211 – Developmental Psychology
      Students without the above courses may be admitted into a pre-psychology program.

Basic Requirements

Completion of the BASIC requirements as listed at NMC will fulfill most of the general requirements at WMU. WMU requires two additional General Education courses at the 300-400 level to be taken at WMU. Upon request at the NMC Records Office, a statement will be placed on your transcript, "MACRAO AGREEMENT SATISFIED".

Quantification Intellectual Skills Requirement

Students completing MACRAO must MINIMALLY:

Compete MTH 23 Beginning Algebra at NMC
Pass the computational skills assessment test AT WMU

WMU's Language requirement (for the College of Arts & Sciences ONLY) can be met in one of three ways:

  1. One year of college level study of any one Foreign Language
  2. Two years of High School level study of any one Foreign Language with a 3.0 or better in second semester of second year.
  3. Attain an appropriate score on WMU's Foreign Language proficiency test.

Completion of at least 64 credits, including those listed above, fulfills the requirements of NMC's Associate degree.
