Food Pantry

NMC has a food pantry available that operates year-round to supply students with nutritious food and personal items in order to combat food insecurity. Learn more about the food pantry here or use this form to place an order (form access requires a student NMC ID).

If you have questions, please call (231) 995-1040 and leave a message. Someone is monitoring calls, and we will respond weekdays between 8 a.m.. and 5 p.m.


LIBRARY

The Osterlin Library is closed. Currently checked out materials will not be due until after the building reopens. No fines will be levied during the library’s closure. We will contact patrons when we are accepting returns again. If you will be leaving the area at the end of the semester, please contact us to make alternative arrangements to return items.

  • To check out Chromebooks (available) and WiFi Hotspots (on order) during this time, please fill out the Request for Chromebooks & WiFi Hotspots.
  • We are offering expanded online service to students in the form of remote research consultations via ZOOM meeting or by phone.

TESTING CENTER

The NMC Testing Center is closed. NMC will be offering a remote online proctor tool called Proctorio. NMC is covering the cost of this service so it will be free for students.

Proctorio is a remote service software that works within your Operating System. A list of system requirements for Proctorio can be found here. You will want to check with your instructors to see if your tests will be proctored using this service, or if they will be offered in a different format.


Tutoring Services

Tutoring Services available to help you in your online learning. We are offering a couple of options:

  • NetTutor Online Tutoring: Tutoring is available 24/7 in most subject areas. Visit this NetTutor link to access the subject list. Access NetTutor through Moodle: Go to the online tutoring tab at the top of Moodle then choose the NetTutor link provided for log in access. This is a free service to NMC students.
  • ZOOM Tutoring meetings with NMC tutors: Drop in tutoring available during scheduled hours.We will offer assistance in NMC Math and Science courses June 22–August 5.

ZOOM Drop in hours June 22–August 5:

    • Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays:10 a.m.–noon and 2–4 p.m.
    • Wednesdays: 2–4 p.m. and 5–6 p.m.
    • Fridays: 10 a.m.–Noon

  • 1*1 Virtual scheduled meetings – Meet virtually with a tutor one-on-one during a scheduled time. To arrange this option, please email the Tutoring office at tutoring@nmc.edu. Please provide your name, the NMC class you need help with, and when you are available to meet. Please allow 24–48 hours for appointment to be arranged.
