Sizzling Hot Summer Training Topics

Betsy WilliamsBy: Betsy Williams, Business Development And Training Specialist

It's summertime — a time to enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan and reflect on things that enhance our lives. One thing that brings joy in the summer is to read a best-selling professional development book on the beach. It’s enlightening to learn new things, and I’m thankful for the authors that share their passion.

In keeping with the season, I would like to highlight two of our staff that have passion in specific training areas.

Karen Goike is a certified Project Management Professional. By nature, she is an organized and efficient individual. She worked in the healthcare industry for many years in project management before moving to Traverse City. She brings a wealth of information, skills, and passion for project management. Karen is in the development stages of new training offerings which will allow individuals and organizations to see how a well thought-out plan can allow you to get more done and be more efficient with your resources.

Rob Summers has a long history working on project layout. In fact, he started in the seventh grade as an intern to redesign the layout of his school’s shop area. He has been hooked ever since. Throughout his education and career, Rob has always focused on the benefits of cellular flow, 5S practices, and saving capital by being efficient with space layout. He sees it as a logical puzzle with quick tangible benefits.

So, this summer as you reflect and rejuvenate, think about what your next learning experience is going to be. Then reach out to me, and I can connect you with our training professional experts that have passion in project management, project layout, and serving the professional training needs of this region’s great business community.

Enjoy the summer and all the beauty northern Michigan has to offer. Make time to learn, have fun, and make a difference.
