Applied Plant Science (NMC AAS/ASA & MSU Certificate)
ASSOCIATES DEGREE AND UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE
MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY
Information on this program is available at Michigan State University College of Agricultural and Natural Resources - Landscape and Nursery or Applied Plant Science in Traverse City.
Admissions information for the program is available via the MSU Institute of Agriculture Technology.
In addition to the two existing specialty certificate options offered in conjunction with NMC's Associate in Applied Plant Science is the new Certificate in Viticulture, providing students with a solid background in plant science along with the specific expertise and skills in grape cultivation needed for careers in the rapidly expanding grape industry.
The combination of online viticulture courses, hands-on experience at local vineyards, fresh markets, juice processors, packing plants and wineries; and the fundamental plant science courses makes graduates in the Viticulture concentration in high demand.
Graduates of the program receive a certificate from the MSU Institute of Agricultural Technology. Students can also continue their class work to obtain an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree from Northwestern Michigan College.
