EMU’s renowned historic preservation program is a recipient of the coveted “Certificate of Commendation” for nationally-recognized performance in historic preservation education. As a student you’ll develop critical knowledge of the field of historic preservation through both classroom and hands-on learning activities in historic northern Michigan locations. The program concentrates on career development in historic preservation planning, heritage interpretation, tourism and administration and conservation and technology. The five-course certificate can involve electives from each of these areas of study.
