The Master of Public Administration at Central Michigan University provides a professional degree to prepare students to assume or advance in careers in the public and nonprofit sectors. The program focuses on developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and an appreciation for ethical decision making. The program maintains a commitment to the recruitment and education of a diverse student body, and the recruitment and professional development of a diverse faculty. Consistent with the University's mission, the program through collaboration with Global Campus Programs offers the degree to underserved communities in select locations served by CMU.

Public Administration Concentration The Public Admin. concentration focuses on the regulatory processes, strategic planning, and implementation of programs necessary to run a modern government.

State and Local Government Concentration – The State and Local Government concentration focuses more on regional and local level governments and how politics and policies affect communities.

Nonprofit Concentration – The Nonprofit concentration is intended for professionals who wish to explore research, theory, and the practice of management and leadership in the nonprofit sector.

General Concentration Coursework builds a systematic understanding of the economic, political, and social problems public administrators face.
