Great Lakes Maritime Academy and Ferris State University are committed to assisting cadets and their families in making higher education affordable.  We encourage all families to apply for federal financial aid (grants, loans and work-study) by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Applicants are eligible for assistance in the form of federal student loans, regardless of income.  Once you file the FAFSA, you may qualify for a combination of college, state and federal programs - a financial aid package -  that may include a combination of the following:

  • Scholarships
  • Loans
  • Grants
  • Work Study

  • Four year bachelor's degree program requires both 002260 (Ferris State University) and 002302 (Maritime/NMC) school codes. For more information, contact the Ferris State University Financial Aid Office at (231) 995-1737.
  • If you are entering with a bachelor's degree, you are only required to enter the 002302 (Maritime/NMC) school code. For more information on financial aid, contact the Northwestern Michigan College Financial Aid Office at (231) 995-1035.
