Program: RN to BSN Nursing Accelerated Program

This concurrent program, in which students will be enrolled two years at NMC and a third year at Davenport University gives nursing students a faster, less expensive path to BSN. Davenport has offered a robust and high-quality nursing program since 2006. This program is designed for currently registered nurses who are seeking a bachelor’s degree in nursing as well as currently enrolled ADN students at NMC. This program is approved by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

Davenport BSN Program Information

 

General Admission Criteria

Prospective students are encouraged to apply and send the FAFSA to Davenport University in the first semester of their ADN program.

BSN students have a two part admissions process at DU.

  1. General Admission: Submit online application (no application fee) and send official transcripts.
  2. Nursing Admission: Submit nursing application, two professional/academic recommendation forms and a statement of purpose.
  • Concurrent students must have a 3.0 CGPA and submit their ADN acceptance letter.
  • Completion students must have a 2.5 CGPA and submit their RN licenses.

Concurrent students are those that are currently enrolled in the NMC nursing program, but have not yet completed the ADN or earned the RN License. Completion students are those that have completed the NMC nursing program with their ADN and have an unencumbered RN License.

** Courses can be taken prior to completing ADN/earning RN License. These courses must be taken at Davenport University to meet residency requirements. If a student plans to transfer in the NMC equivalent course, they will be required to take an additional Davenport course to reach a total of 31 Davenport credits.

^ HLTH 101 needs to be repeated each academic year in the Davenport program. This course includes the required criminal background check and drug screen.

 

Davenport University recognizes the work and skills required to successfully pass the NCLEX. Students should submit the RN license as soon as it is earned. This license represents 30 credits in the Davenport RN to BSN program.

The Davenport BSN Completion and Concurrent programs are under the umbrella of the BSN program and are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The initial accreditation was awarded on February 2, 2014 with a reaccreditation completed on March 11, 2019. The next site visit is planned for spring of 2029.
