NMC Transfer Guide - MTA
To: Oakland University - Main Campus
Program: Physical Therapy
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is a professional graduate program which prepares individuals for licensure and entry into the physical therapy profession. As a graduate program, it includes theoretical, clinical practice, and research courses and experiences to prepare graduates to function in a variety of settings in physical therapy.
Applicants will be considered for admission if they will be completing their baccalaureate degree and all prerequisite courses with a minimum 2.7 grade prior to the start of the program. Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution prior to enrolling in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Basic Requirements
Although Oakland University is a member of MTA, Oakland requires additional hours of general education for their students beyond the 30 hours granted by MTA. Students are required to complete two additional general education courses once they transfer to Oakland University which may be completed in your major. Oakland does not count English Composition as a general education (under MTA), but does require it for graduation. Upon request at the NMC Records and Registration Office, a statement will be placed on your transcript, "MICHIGAN TRANSFER AGREEMENT (MTA) SATISFIED".
