NMC Transfer Guide - MTA
To: University of Michigan - Main Campus
Program: English
Career opportunities for English majors are varied. Communication and speaking skills combined with clear writing skills are always in demand in business and industry as well as in the teaching field. Editors, writers, public relations specialists, lobbyists, journalists, reporters and playwrights frequently come from an English background. English is a great springboard for graduate degrees. Medical school students as well as law students frequently have a Bachelor's degree in English.
Admission Criteria
- GPA – 3.3 with strong high school record if transferring as a sophomore (25–54 credits). 3.0 if transferring as a junior
- Junior Status – preference will be given to applicants who have attained junior standing (54 credits)
- Transferable Grades – 2.0 or better grades required for transfer consideration
